Front Desk/Tech & Medspa Staff

Cozy integrative health and nutrition conscious optometrist practice & dry eye clinic (with a NO-PERFUME policy)  seeks happy personality to join our team as a PART-TIME Optometric Technician / Front Desk person. Cross training for all aspects of the office will be provided, including pre-testing, appointment creation & confirmation, insurance billing, optical, ocular procedure assisting, recalls, back-office tasks, referrals and more.

PART-TIME position offering 20 to 24 hours/week working  Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

No health insurance benefits offered, other than employee discount on vision exams, frames, lenses, contact lenses and med spa perks.

Responsibilities as a Front Desk Person

• Perform all check-in and check-out tasks.

• Manage online and phone appointments.

• Make appointments for patients collecting all the necessary information.

• Inform patients about payment methods and verify their credit card data.

• Maintain accurate and organized patient records.

• Maintain updated records of appointments and payments.

• Calls to make referral appointments for patients.

• Calls in patient Rx to pharmacies.

• Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls.

Responsibilities as an Optometric Technician

• Keeps up with all regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment.

• Prep exam room with supplies and sterilized equipment.

• Performs patient blood pressure & blood sugar measurements.

• Performs auto refractions, visual acuities, color vision, stereo vision, lensometry and visual field testing using either desktop equipment or virtual reality headset.

• Performs widefield retinal photos both dilated and undilated.

• Keeps all rooms tidy and sanitized

• Teach insertion and removal of contact lenses as well as contact lens care.

• Assist other staff with overflow of work.

•Assists doctor in dry eye/med spa clinic.

** OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED **

Skills

• Customer Service experience required.

• NO Optical or MedSpa experience necessary – WILLING TO TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

• Professional attitude and appearance.

• Team Player and Multi-Tasker.

• Must be punctual and reliable.

• Positive and outgoing attitude.

• Positive customer service attitude.
